By 2020, information has it that
Ibadan, Lagos and other cities in Nigeria would witness the rapid development
in the data economy as the United Kingdom based company, Rain Limited enters
the country. This was communicated by Nurudeen Abiodun Adesokan in a comment to Infoprations’
Prologue to Ibadan and Data Economy piece (to be published soon).
“I quite agree with you. Aside the AISaturdays
being coordinated by Ahmed
Olanrewaju in Ibadan, by Jan 2020 will play host to the unveiling of RAIN Limited,
Robotics and Artificial intelligence Nigeria Limited, a firm founded by a World
class and Manchester University trained Robotics and Artificial intelligence
expert, Dr. Olusola Ayoola.
“This firm is set to change the AI
and robotics science landscape not only in Nigeria but in the sub Saharan
Africa. Already Scholarship is being offered to few indigent students to study at
the centre not only Data Science and Python programming at the intermediate
level, but also AI and Robotics at the advanced level with technical
partnership with Manchester University and AI Google laboratory in Accra.”
