Professor Ayobami Ojebode

On 12 December, 2019, Professor Ayobami Ojebode of the Department of Communication and Language Arts would be the second convocation lecture speaker from the University of Ibadan at the yearly graduation ceremony of the Polytechnic Ibadan in 4 years.
Information from the Management of the Polytechnic indicates that Professor of Applied Communication is expected to dwell on the convocation lecture titled The Dream, The Challenge and the Reality of Contemporary Nigeria for Fresh Graduates
The Igboora born Professor is following the footsteps of Professor Olatunbosun Ganiyu Arinola of the Department of Chemical Pathology, University College Hospital, Ibadan, who delivered the 30th convocation lecture titled Polytechnic Graduates and Healthcare Delivery in Nigeria.
Lagos State University, Idi-Araba and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife have had lecturers invited by the Management of the Polytechnic in the last 4 years. Professor Aderemi Tajudeen Ajekigbe Head, Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), delivered 31st convocation lecture titled Stepping Out into the World; Potential Well-Being, Change in Lifestyle and Cancer Education in 2015, while Professor Adebanji Akintoye of the Obafemi Awolowo University lectured the attendees on the needs to explore inherent opportunities in Nigeria instead of migrating to the developed countries, for the combined 32nd and 33rd graduation ceremony.
Checks reveal that all the previous speakers keyed into the Polytechnic’s mission of producing graduates with practical orientations towards the needs of the society. In her lecture during 28th convocation ceremony, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, Chairman of First Bank Plc, noted that professionals could provide useful guide on areas of interest if the graduates adopt them as mentors.
