Today marks end of the Football fans’ waiting around the world for the
commencement of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Opening match will take place
immediately after the opening ceremony. Saudi Arabia and Russia, the host
country will play the first game today at Luzhniki Stadium.
Saudi Arabia and Russia are in Group A. Saudi Arabia
are playing in their first World Cup since 2006. In history, the two countries
met in 1993 for an international friendly game. Saudi Arabia won the game on
4-2 score. Saudi Arabia are playing in this year tournament since 2006’s edition held in Germany. Saudi Arabia has
played 131, won 71, drawn 29 and lost 31 games since commencement of the global
football fiesta. Russia has appeared in
ten World Cups.
