Reports on the number of people being killed every day in
Nigeria have not stopped. News media are not relenting in revealing statistics of
the various killings in the country, most especially those resulted from the
clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the northern part. Early this year, Amnesty
International hinted that the feud between farmers and herdsmen claimed 168
lives in January 2018 alone.
Meanwhile, Infoprations’
trend analysis shows that Nigerians in Benue, Plateau and Kogi States are more
interested in knowing latest happenings on the incessant killings that have engulfed
the Africa’s most population country since 2017. The high interest in the killings from these states could be linked to herdsmen.
