How Nigerians will travel during 2018 Eid-l-kabir

Nigerians and other nationals have few days to celebrate this year Eid-l-kabir, Muslims’ festival marking the 10th month of the Islamic Calendar. In Nigeria, Infoprations has discovered that 15 states will experience massive intercity movement before the festival.
Analysis suggests that Nigerians are likely to move to other states during the festival from Ekiti, Bauchi, Enugu, Imo, Benue, Cross River, Plateau,  Oyo, Akwa Ibom, Ondo, Edo, Anambra, Kano, Nassarawa and Lagos to other states. This is in line with the interest in traveling knowledge of Nigerians who have used the Internet to understand the festival, transport fare and holiday.
Infoprations’ analysis shows that the more people had interest in knowing the festival, the more they developed interest in having holiday during the festival. A 36.5% increase was found for holiday interest from the one unit interest in Eid-l-kabir. Over 22% and 10% increase in transport fare and travel respectively were discovered when people had one unit interest in Eid-l-kabir. Nigerians’ interest in transport fare is being driven by the interest in traveling during the holiday by 19.8%, analysis reveals.
Despite strong interest in holiday, travel and Eid-l-kabir, Nigerians did not show significant interest in transport fare from the states. This indicates that people have not started realizing the likelihood of increase in transport fare.
