The Robotics and Artificial Intelligence
(RAIN) is a center dedicated to knowledge transfer and management within the
context of emerging technologies driven by machine
learning and artificial intelligence.
RAIN came into existence from the knowledge and skills of Dr Ayoola
Saheed. In a recent interview, Dr
Ayoola notes that Nigeria
is catching up with other countries in the digital economy. He made this submission
having seen how the public and private stakeholders are working towards growth
and development of digital economy in the last few years.
In its efforts of supporting digital
economy ecosystem, the Centre has opened applications for the new students into
various courses. The course ranges from weeks to months. According to the
Center, some students are expected to learn Python Programming/Data Science, Machine Learning/Introduction to AI, Deep Learning
for Computer Vision and Deep Learning for Natural Language Processing within 8
weeks. Students who desire to have practical knowledge and skills about Robot Development
and Automation (RDA) and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML)
will spend 9 months for the programmes. At the end of learning cycle, students
who met the requirements for certification will be issued certificates.
The application is ongoing for a new
session, which would start in February 2021. Parents and guardians are enjoined
to enroll their children through this link. Working class
professionals who want to advance their knowledge and skills as well as
transiting into the knowledge economy space can also register. The centre has daily
and monthly accommodation packages.
