The Mass Communication Department at
the Fountain University, Osogbo has communicated its readiness to have Mutiu Iyanda, our
co-founder, as a facilitator which translated to an Associate Lecturer, according to Infoprations' AiM Strategy (Applied and Industry Collaboration) for data analysis aspect of the research methodology course. Information from the Head of Department,
Salaudeen Kamorudeen says Mutiu Iyanda will be facilitating the process of imparting basic and advanced
quantitative data analysis on 400 level students.
“Starting from November, 2019, he is
expected to impart nitty-gritty of analysing quantitative data on the students
at the final level of the Mass Communication programme of the institution,” the
information states.
The Head of Department notes that having the expert is an internal arrangement to enable students have access to additional research knowledge and skills from the industry perspective.

Mutiu Iyanda is a Research and
Communications professional with a special bias for combining academic and
industrial approaches for issues and needs exploration towards personal and
societal growth. His research and industry interests include entrepreneurship
development, media, communication, public governance and facilities management.
He has co-authored articles in
reputable national and international journals. His latest academic work is “Predicting
Migration to Developed Countries: The Place of Media Attention”, a contribution
he and other colleagues made to the Handbook
of Research on the Global Impact of Media on Migration Issues. He is
Co-Convener, Academic-Applied Research Co-Creation Hub. The Hub is connecting
academics and industry experts to fix identified paralyses in Nigeria's
Research and Development sector.
At the end of the module, the
students will be able to use appropriate methods and software to analyse data
and draw insights within the context of their research objectives. “Apart from gaining basic and advanced knowledge of data
analysis for academic purpose, the students are also expect to have
first-hand industry knowledge of data analysis and insight communication,” Mutiu
Iyanda adds.
This partnership has confirmed Infoprations’
strategic alliance with academic institutions using its AiM approach.
