Nigeria: Shoe, Book purchase dominate parents’ interest in 21 states, FCT as schools resume on 15th September




Less than 15 days for the school resumption in Nigeria, Infoprations has discovered parents across the country have developed interest in school materials. Analysis of the school’s needs for the new term shows that parents in 21 states and Abuja, Federal Capital Territory had significant interest in shoe, book than backpack purchase.
As at August 30, the search interest volume within the shopping category for shoe has reached 1,963 while the volume for the book and backpack were 369 and 42 respectively. Infoprations expects businesses to make shoe more available in Cross River, Ekiti, Benue, Abia, Nasarawa, Akwa-Ibom, Imo, Osun, Anambra and Edo States. These are the states with 100% interest in shoe purchase in the last 30 days. Gombe, Niger, Kwara and Ondo should be considered as states where book should be made available in large quantities. Parents in these state had 100% interest in it.
Interest in shoe and book was 50-50% in Plateau State. Analysis further shows that parents in Abuja, Ogun, Delta, Kaduna and Oyo States had 87%, 78%, 72%, 60% and 57% interest in shoe purchase. In Lagos and Rivers States, analysis reveals that parents’ interest in shoe purchase was 85%.
