Osun 2018: PDP’s popularity soars ahead of today’s governorship election, to get maximum votes in Ede, Ilesa, Osogbo




Less than 8 hours to the 2018 governorship election in Osun State, Infoprations’ Analysis has revealed that the people’s interest in People’s Democratic Party, the main opposition party in the State, was more than the interest they had in the All Progressives Congress, the ruling party.
The results from the Trending Analysis show that people sought knowledge about the PDP within 2,965 index, while the ruling party followed by 2,774 index. The Social Democratic Party, the party fielding Senator Iyiola Omisore as candidate, was in third position with 1,505 index followed by Action Democratic Party (767 index).
Analysis further suggests that PDP is being popular in Ede, Ilesa and Osogbo by 71%, 65% and 45% search interest respectively. The ruling party is being popular in Ile-Ife, where it gathered 59% search interest than the PDP which had 41%.
From the virtual election prediction perspective, being popular in a particular city or town during an election period is an indication that votes could be in favour of the party or its candidate, especially when people who sought for knowledge about the party got positive information or negative ones that increased their level of sympathy towards the party.
