Osun 2018: Infoprations’ prediction confirmed as IGP ready to deploy 8 police commissioners for security mission

With less than 22 days before the September 22 governorship election in Osun State, readiness of Nigeria Police to deploy 8 Commissioners of Police to Area Commands in the state aligns with the Infoprations’ earlier prediction that some part of the state will experience heavy security presence. In the report, Infoprations expects Osun West to be the battlefield for the APC and PDP during the election because of the West Agenda during pre-primary election in the state.
“As far as people believe in the West Agenda ideology, APC should know that voters will not mind militarization of the electoral process,” the report noted.
The IGP through Force public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, in a statement, said:“The Force wishes to categorically state that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris NPM, mni, during a one day Seminar on imperativeness of Police collaboration with essential stakeholders towards secured, free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria, held in Oshogbo, Osun State on 30th August, 2018, mentioned that there are Eight Area Commands in Osun State and a Commissioner of Police will be deployed to man each Area Command to supervise Security Arrangements for the Osun State Gubernatorial Election and not a Commissioner of Police to a Local Government in the State as reported.
