A 63.2% connection was found for the price of dried Catfish and the search volume. This would be reduced to 39.7% in August, analysis suggests. For the smoked Catfish, Infoprations discovered 46.8% linkage of the price and the search volume with the expectation that the connection would be 1.8% in August and increase to 16.3% in September 2018.
During the month, analysis reveals 2.2%, 39.9% and 21.9% as the contributions of the people’s interest in Catfish through Google search to the prices of fresh, dried and smoked Catfish respectively, analysis establishes.
The interest in knowing the fish and its connection with price could be linked with the fact that the fish is the most farmed specie in Nigeria, constituting more than half of the total aquaculture production by volume.
