Kwara:on the verge of 'youthquake' I

Instilling right attitude and moral values into the young ones started from the home, which happens to be the first socialization agent. It's at this stage that a child watches his or her parents' behaviours keenly:directly or indirectly. In most cases, through a 'strict' directive. If they ever care! Next is the peer group, where child would imitate some behaviours from his or her colleagues before proceeding to school. School, as the third stage, is expected to inculcate both moral and 'spiritual' education in the minds of the future leaders.Since education has been regarded as the bedrock of the society! But, in the northern part of Nigeria, the axim is no longer tenable. To them, western education is sin(Boko Haram) Kwara state, created in 1967 located in the north-central of the country with the present behavioural patterns of parents and students towards western education cannot be exempted. After three weeks of camping under the nation's youth service scheme, I was among corp members deployed to school for teaching. As a youth, who is obeying the clarion call!I put on my thinking cap.Pondering on how to handled the teaching assignment. And getting desired results .At my place of primary assignment, efforts to turn things around always received 'grim faces' from parents and guardians.Imagine, senior secondary students do not know the meaning of 'naked' when asked. To them, it means, when someone is fat or big. They pronounced conscience as 'con science'.One of the parents told his son not to mind his teachers.
Please, don't mind them. If you lack education, you would still be a rich  person like Bill Gate,Dangote. Even, our own Okanlawon (the only wealthy man in the community).
