How ex-Gambian President pushed two prominent politicians to ‘negative popularity frame’

Infoprations’ analysis of the prominent politicians’ popularity has shown that former The Gambia’s President, Yahya Jammeh affected two politicians in the country. Analysis suggests that the former President surpassed popularity of the new Vice President, Darboe Ousainou and Honourable Sallah Halifa, a parliamentarian.
Vice President Darboe Ousainou had a collision with Yahya Jammeh’s status which led to 42% popularity reduction. Sallah Halifa, the Secretary General of the Peoples Democratic Organization for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS) and National Assembly Member for Serrekunda, also had negative connection with the former President. Analysis reveals 38% reduction in Honourable Halifa Sallah’s popularity.

The negative effect of the former President’s popularity on the “home-based” politicians could be linked with his recent announcement of returning to the country’s political space, which politicians and government have condemned in strong terms.

Analysis equally shows that Hamat Bah, Njie Saidy Isatou and Adama Barrow connected with the former President negatively, indicating disparity in the interest people have for them. However, Infoprations’ analysis suggests that Hamat Bah has positive connection with Darboe Ousainou, Njie Saidy Isatou and Sallah Halifah within the economy frame. This is an indication that the politicians need to work together in the area of economy towards inclusive growth and development.
