Politicians in these countries connected with 6 global governance issues

In the last ten years, countries have been witnessing various environmental, political, social and economic issues. The impacts on people and businesses remain enormous. In 2017, thousands of youths were asked to name the greatest challenges confronting world. According to the survey,  about 32 percent of millennials in sub-Saharan Africa are concerned with world government issues, the highest of the sub-regions, followed by Latin America/the Caribbean (27 percent) and the Middle East/North Africa (23.2 percent).
Climate change or destruction of nature, large scale conflict  or wars,  poverty, religious conflicts, government accountability and transparency or corruption,  food and water security, lack of education, safety or security or wellbeing and lack of economic opportunity and employment were the top ten challenges the youths identified as the most concerning world issues.
Infoprations believes that the issues evolved, in most cases, because of the failure to utilize available human and material resources effectively. The corrupt predisposition of public officials and individuals remains additional factor that will continue to enhance the severity of the issues.
With this observation, Infoprations examined the connection between politicians across the world and the six global governance issues that have been the focus of the World Economic Forum since 2007, ranking countries based on global survey of citizens and business executives.
Initial analysis was the examination of the top countries where people searched about the word “politicians” from January to June 2018. Pakistan, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Australia, Nepal, United States, Lebanon, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Philippines, India, United Kingdom, Canada and Singapore made Infoprations’ top search list.
Checks on the related queries and topics of interest reveal that most corrupt politicians 2018, corrupt politicians in the world 2018, top 10 politicians in the world, most corrupt politicians in the world 2018 and top 10 corrupt politicians in the world were the most related queries with the politicians throughout the world.  The top 10 corrupt politicians in the world was the most phrase used by the people during the period. Result shows that the phrase reached 5,000%, representing a breakout from the preferred less than 5,000% threshold.
Since global issues affects everyone and nation, Infoprations did a relational analysis of the six global issues –diversion of public funds, irregular payments and bribes, favouritism in the decisions of government officials, efficiency of government spending, transparency of government policymaking and accountability. This was done on a conviction that average politicians, most especially in developing countries involve in one or two of the issues.
The first result that emerged from the analysis is that an increase in world’s interest in politicians reduces the interest people had in their own politicians. In this regard, Ghana, Nigeria and Lebanon enhance the result. It was equally discovered that as the world’s interest in politicians increases, country’s interest in politicians increases too. In line with this, politicians in Pakistan, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Ireland, Singapore, Australia and United States had better chance of being searched within and outside their countries, analysis suggests.
On a negative side, further analysis establishes that an increase in rank of each global issue is associated with decrease in interest in politicians at country level. As rank for each issue increases, the results indicate that country’s interest in politicians also increases. This is an indication that the more people discovered that their countries have been ranked high on the issues, the more they have interest in knowing politicians and understand related issues.
However, analysis shows that countries with better rankings had negative connection percent. This is a case of ripple effects due to composite values adopted for the analysis. United Arab Emirates, United States, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, United Kingdom and Canada were found with negative connection despite their better rankings on the issues.

This has supported the notion that solutions to global issues require cooperation among countries. The better ranked countries need to help those with poor rankings that connected with the six global issues.
