The cost of Lagos traffic on workers in 6 months

Over 8 million out of the 21 million residents travel to work each day using available roads and expressways. Traffic is a perennial problem in Lagos. Countless hours are being lost in traffic congestion every day. This has been having serious impact on the economic efficiency, productivity and social performance of the city over the years.
Ketu/Ojota through Western Avenue and Alapere through third Mainland Bridge are corridors renowned for traffic congestion, most especially during the peak hours. The Ketu/Ojota through Funso Williams links Lagos Island, while Third Mainland Bridge leads to Ikoyi/Victoria Island.

To arrive at workplace on time, workers have to explore formal and informal means of understanding traffic situations on these routes.  Analysis indicates that workers search of traffic situations on the Internet reduces quality of works, efficiency and satisfaction. Despite this, Lagos’ workers made efforts to be effective and recorded significant development during working period from January 1st to July 15th, 2018.
