The results from the Infoprations’ Series on Sustainable
Development have shown that Lagos residents are contributing to responsible consumption and chronic poverty reduction. Analysis reveals that
33.3% of 109 Lagos residents are sharing excess and uneaten food with the weak,
laying inclusive neighbourhood foundation in the city. This is connected with
the strong relationship that exists among the people.

that 83.3% of the residents give or share leftover due to values and norms
relating to inclusive neighbourhood they cherished. For the residents who
usually have excess food, it is essential to share with friends, professional
colleagues and landlords because there is a need to create equal social status
in the neighbourhood. Sharing leftover was equally found to be a potential
solution to difficult socioeconomic problem of some residents in the city.
