Defections: Tug of popularity, as Wamakko show off in Sokoto

In the last few hours, Nigerians in Sokoto, the capital of Sokoto State in Nigeria, have been in joyful mood as Senator Aliyu Wamakko, Former Governor and current Senator representing Sokoto North in the National Assembly, arrived for a showdown rally.

Senator Wamakko has earlier said the state remains under the All Progressives Congress despite Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s recent defection to the People’s Democratic Party, the main opposition party in the state.  

As people in the state continue trooping out to welcome the Senator, Infoprations’ trending analysis reveals that the last four hours have been tug of search interest in the two politicians by Nigerians on virtual sphere. Analysis shows that Governor Aliyu Tambuwal is leading Senator Aliyu Wamakko by 599.  The searched volume of Governor Tambuwal has reached 1,435 within four hours while Senator Wamakko had 964.
