Complex Relationship: 87.2% of Lagos residents use mobile phone to communicate leftover food with neighbours

The result from the Infoprations’ Series on Sustainable Development has shown that 87.2% of Lagos residents are using mobile phone to communicate available uneaten food with their neighbours due to complex relationship that exists among them.
Analysis also indicates that 17.3% of 109 residents in Lekki/Ajah and Yaba areas of the city with very complex relationship also use the medium. Further analysis indicates that the medium is being used by the residents because of time, quick message delivery, appropriateness, easier to use, ease of use and the fact that it is the most use new medium in the city.

Despite its usefulness, residents note that the medium is not dependable. Infoprations’ observation links this with the poor telecommunication infrastructure and network connectivity in the country, a situation which needs concerned stakeholders quick response and solutions towards attainment of food security and poverty reduction using neighbourhood approach.
