Infoprations’ Trending Analysis has revealed a strong connection in the
interest Nigerians had in incessant strike of the Academic Staff Union of
Nigerian Universities in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Analysis shows that between
2015 and 2016, the need to know issues around the strike connected by 99%,
while 98.4% was found for 2017 and 2018. This shows that people, especially
affected students, always want to know how the concerned stakeholders worked
together in the previous years and 2018.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has said it will meet with
the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) on Monday
December 10, 2018. For the speedy solution to the crisis, the Minister of
Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has taken over the negotiation
between the Federal government and the striking lecturers.
