Nigeria’s first data-driven news medium launched in Lagos


As data continue to be the oil of individuals, businesses and governments across the world to solve internal and external problems, a group of researchers, journalists and communications experts have started a data-driven news medium in Lagos, Nigeria.
Giving the reasons for the unveiling of the medium - eCommenter, which is a complete departure from the regular online news media, the research and communications strategist of Infoprations, Mutiu Iyanda, said the clamour for in-depth analysis of data, events and public opinions propelled the establishment of the news medium.
He said the eCommenter is a baby of Infoprations, adding that the online medium exists to help businesses, people and governments navigates the innovation stage and key into the emerging trends seamlessly.


According to him, “eCommenter is a private medium that focuses on in-depth analysis of public opinions on socioeconomic, business and political issues in Africa towards effective policy making and implementation.
Infoprations exists to help businesses, people and governments understand their domain by leveraging research, data, insights, knowledge and profiting from huge data.
Iyanda further stated that the company’s specialities include research as a service, data as a service, insights as a service, knowledge as a service and consulting.”
He said the company has between 11 and 50 staff with diverse expertise in research, data analysis, data science, communications, journalism and media management.
