The
Management of Infoprations, a data-driven consulting company, has announced
its readiness of helping academic researchers in Nigeria in the area of online
data collection. According to Mutiu Iyanda, a Data Strategist and Co-Founder of
the company, the Nigerian academic space needs to key into global practice of
using real time data for academic researches.
Referring
to the company’s recent analysis, he notes that academics in the social sciences,
humanities and arts in Nigerian universities and other higher institutions are
not exploring big data in the various online communities and data being
generated by businesses including governments like their counterparts in the developed
world. “This is the single reason Infoprations considers the
introduction of the service under its broad service of Data as a Service for
the academics.”
Infoprations
has finalised processes and tools for the
effective gathering of previous and real time data in the digital space for
researchers, who wanted to join the global academic conversation using big data
singlehanded or in addition to conventional data from offline research
approaches and philosophies.
“Researchers
only need to reach out and explain the format they want the data to be in a
brief to us, while we will debrief and get back to them within a short period,”
he points out.
This is a welcome and much expected development. The service of collecting and exploiting big data for scholarly and high quality researches in Nigeria cannot come at a better time. This is a worthwhile and commendable efforts from Infoprations and urge all our up and doing researchers to tap into it for robust and internationally-recognised research outputs that can mother true development. Kudos to Mutiu Iyanda and his indefatigable team.
