Nigerian Governments and Health Sector Budget Adequacy to Covid-19 Management

Since 1999 that Nigeria returned to democratic government, significant amount have been budgeted and still being budgeted for the health sector. This is being done with the intent of providing qualitative healthcare services to the citizens and residents.

Despite this, a number of reports indicate that Nigeria still lagging behind in terms of qualitative public and primary healthcare provision.
Unexpectedly, the emergence of #coronavirus exposed decades of rot in the sector. From federal government to state governments, it was a little bit difficult to respond to the early stage of the virus transmission.


 KnowCOVID-19 Nigeria takes a look at the average budget estimates for the sector by the states and Federal Capital Territory in relation to key indicators of managing the virus globally.
