Osun 2018: APC partially ‘adopted’ Infoprations’ prediction as Alabi becomes Oyetola’s running mate

In its bid to get maximum votes from Osun West region in the September 22 governorship election, the All Progressives Congress has chose Mr Olugboyega Benedict Alabi from the region. This development partially aligns with the Infoprations’ prediction that the party has better chance in the region if governorship candidate is selected from the region.
According to the prediction, which also serves as a pointer to the People’s Democratic Party, Infoprations expects APC’s candidate to be chosen from Ola-Oluwa, Ede North and Ayedaade in the first Cluster while Iwo, Isokan or Ede South should be considered in the second. For the PDP, Iwo, Ayedaade and Ede North should be considered first while Ayedire, Isokan and Ede South should be the second unit of selecting candidate. However, analysis suggests that Cluster 2 is better for APC than Cluster 1 while Cluster 1 is better for PDP than Cluster 2.

The selection of Olugboyega Alabi Benedict, Managing Director Eliezer Workplace Management Limited, APC has considered Ayedaade, a local council that shares boundary with Irewole council where Alabi hails from. Mr Alabi polled a total of 284 votes during the party’s primary held in July.
Meanwhile, Infoprations believes that this is a game changer as Osun West would be the real battle field for the contenders.  Mr Alabi is from the same senatorial district as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ademola Adeleke. In the previous elections, Osun West was the region that gave parties and candidates highest votes.
