With
the 5 hours of the closing of business in most companies in Lagos, Infoprations’ analysis has shown that
road traffic will start by 12 pm today. Analysis indicates that on Saturday 10th
and Sunday 11th, residents in the city have had significant interest in understanding
how they would overcome the traffic challenge today.
The
analysis further indicates that people from Ikorodu, going to the Lagos Island,
will use bus as the main transport type while those on the Lagos Island will
employ car most. As the traffic peaks by 12 pm, analysis suggests that drivers
would increase their speed range in order to beat the traffic. This effort
would not yield the desired result because almost all the roads or corridors leading
to the Mainland from the Island would have cyclic traffic movement.
In
the previous
analysis, Ketu/Ojota through
Western Avenue and Alapere through third Mainland Bridge are corridors renowned
for traffic congestion, most especially during the peak hours. The Ketu/Ojota
through Funso Williams links Lagos Island, while Third Mainland Bridge leads to
Ikoyi/Victoria Island.
